OUR START UP STORY
Women in Business’s first event was sparked by a conversation between women about how they were tired and were looking for life-giving spaces to refuel their souls. A simple question was asked: “Let’s have a girl’s night?” and our first event at Buff City Soaps came to life.
That event taught us something simple. When you create space for women to show up authentically and for genuine connection, miracles happen.
Since we launched Women in Business, we’ve watched women have the courage to launch new businesses, bet on themselves, learn new skills that transform their work, invest, scale, open brick and mortar stores, open online stores, make the right connection at the right time… we’ve celebrated a LOT of beauty together.
While our Girl’s Night Out’s were voted Gold for Best Networking Event by Lynchburg Living Magazine, our heartbeat is truly for women to genuinely connect, the networking flows out of connection.
MEET OUR CO-FOUNDERS

Ali + Carrie’s friendship and mentorship has extended over a decade and blossomed behind-the-scenes as a Chick-fil-A franchises’ Marketing Department. While the dynamic duo has a history of throwing memorable events, at their core they share a passion for celebrating and championing women to live out their full, God-given potential.
Both Ali + Carrie are coaches, speakers, community leaders, entrepreneurs and your business cheerleaders.
EXECUTIVE TEAM
Our Executive Team drives our organization. They voluntarily run the day-to-day operations of Women in Business. The Executive Team sets the vision for our community and it’s events, organizes stewardship of the organization, and leader our Leadership Team.
LEADERSHIP TEAM
Our Leadership Team is a volunteer team that propels the operations of Women in Business. They pour into our vision and are the hands and feet of our experiences.
Our leadership team is made up of women who served as ambassadors and who live out the mission, vision and values of Women in Business.
AMBASSADORS
Our Ambassadors are women in the community who embody the values of Women in Business. They serve at least 1 event a year, running stations, and helping create new connections. They’re the hands of Women in Business, making sure every woman who walks into our events is seen, connected and celebrated.
